Here are a few tips to help you prepare for the conversation.

Bring your questions along.
Although Smartful’s introductory interviews are relaxed and don’t require any formal preparation, our experience shows that a little preparation can be helpful.
Before our meeting, take another look at the information shared about the role. Write down any questions and thoughts that come up for you. This way, you’ll feel more confident that we can answer all the questions that matter to you during the meeting.
We’re always happy to see candidates bring notes to the meeting. Feel free to take yours out! 😉

Find a suitable place for the conversation.
It’s important to us that you feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible during the meeting. That’s why we recommend thinking through where it would be most convenient for you to take the call.
Smartful’s introductory interviews mainly take place online via Zoom or Google Meet.
For example, before the conversation, you can simply turn on your camera and test what is visible on the screen and how everything looks. This way, you’ll feel even more comfortable joining the meeting and can focus on what matters.

Glitches happen.
Technology has its moods and feelings too. The first few minutes of a conversation are often spent getting friendly with the tech — can we hear each other, can we see each other? And even if you tested everything the day before, your computer may be in a completely different mood today, and for some reason things may work differently.
Make sure you also join the Zoom meeting with audio. If that doesn’t work, simply leave the meeting for a moment and join again. Often, something as simple as that does the trick.
But if technology really doesn’t want to cooperate with us, we’ll give you a call instead. One way or another, we’ll find a solution together!
