Meconet AS is hiring: Production Engineer (Focus on Equipment Maintenance & Process Improvement)

Meconet AS is an internationally operating and financially stable family-owned company with over 100 years of experience in the sheet metal business. Today, more than 300 professionals are working across the Meconet Group, including around 70 in Estonia.

The Estonian factory is known for its forward-looking mindset and rapid development – every week brings new challenges, from integrating automation to redesigning layout flows based on LEAN principles.

To support its continued growth and operational excellence, Meconet is now looking for a Production Engineer with a focus on equipment maintenance and technical infrastructure development.

About the role

This position plays a key part in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of Meconet’s production equipment. The Production Engineer will be responsible for organizing maintenance activities, leading a small technical team, and contributing to the continuous development of factory processes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and supervising maintenance and repair activities for production machinery
• Utilizing the CMMS system (Spotilla) to manage preventive and corrective maintenance
• Leading a technical team (2 specialists) and supporting their development
• Analyzing breakdowns and equipment data to drive reliability improvements
• Coordinating external contractors and ensuring high-quality outcomes
• Participating in equipment relocations and layout planning based on LEAN principles
• Supporting process optimization through design of jigs, fixtures, and tooling
• Solving technical issues that arise in daily production operations

Experience and background:

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or maintenance role
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, automation engineering, or a similar field
• Hands-on experience in equipment troubleshooting and process development
• Familiarity with CMMS systems (Spotilla experience is a plus)

Skills and attributes:

• Knowledge of TPM, 5S, and LEAN manufacturing principles
• Structured and proactive problem-solver with technical curiosity
• Able to plan and prioritize effectively
• Clear communicator, especially when coordinating with contractors
• Fluency in Russian and/or Estonian. English is considered an advantage
